Delightful Music: Los Ciegos Del Barrio – “Los Ciegos Del Barrio” is a multigenre Latin music group from New York City. They play Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, Bolero, Reggaeton and Rock in English and Spanish. Their name translates to “The Blind Boys From The Hood.” Active since 1997, they have released a demo, 4 singles, 4 studio albums and 1 live album. They are proud to announce the release of their latest album “El Futuro”, available on ITunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music and more. The band members include:
Alvin Suarez – Director, percussion, drums, guitar, vocal;
Derek Suarez – Keyboard, bass, vocal;
Machete- Keyboard, accordion, harmonica, penny whistle, vocal;
Jimmy Fontanez – Drums, percussion, vocal; and
Jaime Diaz – Bass, guitar, vocal.

Delightful Cinema: By 2008, more than 25 percent of major league baseball players were born in Latin America. At 19, Miguel “Sugar” Santos, a serious kid from the Dominican Republic, signs with Kansas City. He flies to Phoenix for tryouts and is sent to the Class A team “The Swing” in the fictional town of Bridgetown, Iowa, where he lives with a farm family. Thus begins his odyssey: leaving his mom and girlfriend; living in an alien culture; learning English; overcoming jitters; working hard; achieving early success; navigating friendships, occasional racism, and a woman’s mixed signals; dealing with an injury; trying performance-enhancing drugs; and, searching for his place in the world. Delightful Music: The Fat Afro Latin Jazz Cats is the pre-professional big-band youth orchestra of the non-profit Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, a training musical organization to prepare youngsters for the field of music and jazz. Founded in 2010 in the New York city area, this youth-based big band orchestra includes some of the city’s finest young musicians who hail from all over the five boroughs. Under the direction of ALJA’s Artistic Director Arturo O’Farrill along with trumpetist Jim Seeley, drummer Zack O’Farrill and alto sax player Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, they perform works from the Latin jazz repertory as well as standard jazz pieces.

Delightful Cinema: “Una Noche” – Mired in the nervous desperation of Havana, Raul dreams of escaping to Miami. When accused of assault, his only option is to flee.
